At Grup Alimentari DISTECO, we specialize in distribution, logistics, and commercial management within the food sector.
Our company was founded in August 1995, and to this day we have continued to evolve thanks to the constant work of an excellent and highly qualified team, which currently consists of more than one hundred and forty people.
In September 2013, we moved to the Can Volard industrial estate in Parets del Vallès. The constant commercial growth, the continuous increase in clients, the creation of new product lines, and the necessary expansion of our supplier base to support this growth led us to acquire new commercial facilities — larger, better located, and more modern — where we can manage all our current operations and, at the same time, accommodate the future expansions we have planned.

Key Milestones
1995 – The First Steps
DISTECO was founded in the Congost Industrial Park by three founding partners: Embutidos Monells S.A., Canduran, and Anec de l’Empordà. From day one, the company specialized in distributing well-established brands within the traditional retail channel, with logistics as a key differentiator in our business model.
1997 –New Lead
Michael H.G. Schara – Shara and Pere Carvajal (current owner) joined as partners, ushering in a new era of growth and professionalization.
2012 – New Corporate Identity
The company rebranded from Exclusives Disteco to Grup Alimentari Disteco, S.A. At the same time, Pere Carvajal Canela became majority shareholder (58.65%) and sole administrator. Through Judcar S.L. — co-owned by Pere and his children Judith and Edgar Carvajal Márquez — the group reached an 80% stake, with the remaining 20% held as treasury shares.
2013 – Looking Ahead
We relocated operations to the Can Volard Industrial Park in Parets del Vallès, doubling our space to 2,680 m² and beginning to operate as a logistics platform for various manufacturers.
2014 – Adding Value
We expanded our facilities to the current 8,000 m². In parallel, we sold the 20% treasury shares to five key executives, strengthening internal commitment. We also launched our beef cutting operations, opening up new business lines.
2016 – Expansion and Diversification
I We added two cutting rooms (for pork and beef) and acquired a 50% stake in CellVi Osona, producer of wines under our Masia Vila-Rassa label. This year also marked the start of our export activities to Asia and Europe.
2018 – Strategic Alliances
We signed a distribution agreement with Hijos de Rivera for specific areas in Barcelona, becoming official distributors of Estrella Galicia. This milestone marked our entry into the HORECA channel and further consolidated our portfolio of proprietary brands. That same year, we also introduced lines of sliced cured meats and fresh products.
2021 – Innovation and the Future
We launched an 800 m² industrial kitchen equipped with cutting-edge technology for the production of fourth- and fifth-range products under the Natural Xef brand. The facility also includes a professional showroom and show-cooking space.
2022 – Reinventing to Move Forward
In response to the impact of COVID-19, we embraced deep transformation. We began producing our own products, including prepared foods and sliced meats. In addition, we strengthened our logistics services through the creation of a centralized purchasing unit.
2023 – Growing as a Team
We reached a major milestone: more than 100 professionals are now part of the DISTECO team, united by a shared vision and a company culture rooted in commitment and excellence.
2024 – Sustained Growth
In just six years, we have tripled our revenue, reaching €60 million. Today, DISTECO stands as a dynamic, solid, and rapidly expanding company.
